' Junior High students learn about local law Following a presentation Thursday, March 3, seventh grade students at Malakoff Junior High School know a lot more about local law. Mrs. Judy Newman, local Justice of the Peace, discussed all aspects of her job with seventh graders. Some of the topics covered were the three levels of justice; the fact that 17 year-olds can be tried as adults; anyone can be charged and/or fined for obscene language or gestures in public; the difference bet- ween misdemeanors and felonies; how to press charges; how bonds are made and under what circumstances autop- sies are done. Open Under New Management/ Located on Hwy. 31 East t From questions asked it was obvious that the students enjoyed Mrs. Newman's program.
