/A--The MalakoH News, Thursday, April 2, 1981 O Malakoff continues to see im- provements and expansion in its business community. McAtee Realty joins the list of new businesses planning to open their of- fices April 15. Their location will be the old Phillips estate house on E. Royall Blvd., where remodeling inside and outside is underway. The business will have $100,000 invested in their new of- fice prior to their opening date. Robert McAtee is owner of the real estate business and is owner of a real estate office in Athens. After April 15 they will be open six days a week, Monday through Satur- day, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. They ex- pect to have about five employees in the local office. Office manager will be Steve McAtee, and executive secretary will be Pare Meredith. There will also be three agents. They will handle all types of real estate, including residential, commer- cial, farms and land, ranches, real estate investments, and also land developing. They will take care of the financing details and closing and titles to buyers. For a n wit better school district vote for For All Your 24 Hours A Day McAtee said, "We want to feel that we are doing something nice for Malakoff because it will come back to us as good business." Mrs. McAtee also works in the business as operations manager. The McAtees have two sons, Robert, Jr., and Stephen. Manning's Cleaners is another new business, located at 410 Royal] Blvd. and owned by Mr. and Mrs. Willie Man- ning. The new business has been com- pletely remodeled inside. They offer all types of cleaning in- cluding leather and furs. They have one hour and one.day service. Working with the Mannings is Mary Barron. Manning's Cleaners is open from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Moye Custom Homes joins the business scene in their location at Hwy. 31, this side of City Building Supplies, Houston Mayo, with 15 years experien- ce in home building, is owner. The firm builds new homes, remodels, and makes add-ons. All of his work is guaranteed for one year. His wife, Linda, manages the office which is open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and a half day on Saturdays. The Moyes are residents of Kemp and have a business there which is still open and has been located there for ten years. Their decision to open a Malakoff office was because they buy all of their materials here and most of their contracts are local around the Malakoff area. The phone number for the business is 489-0528. Norwood Oil Co. is moving into new offices located at the corner of Hwy. 31 hods coil 676-6771 Athens 7 Days A Week and College in the old Action Realty building. Previously their office, managed by Jan Norwood, was located in their home. The Norwoods are remodeling the outside of their building, adding to the appearance of the Malakoff business community. 1st Savings and Loan Association is located in their new office building at 210 E. Royal]. They first.opened their branch office in Malakoff July 1, 1975. Judy Seat is branch manager for 1st Savings and Loan, home effaced in Athens. The new facility offers drive-through window service, night depository, two teller stations inside, two desk stations and one private office. There ~ a break area for employees, office area, and lobby. Hours for the business are from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. An open house is planned for April 2 and 3, where a drawing will be held for an RCA Playmate black and white por- table television and a $25 passbook savings account. Directors of the business are Clark Cain, James B. Cain, J. T. Forman, Joe Fuigham, Jack Hardee, Charles Hawn, Orland Lunceford, Joe McGuffey, W. C. Scirratt, Bruce Smith, and Eugene Teague.
