Fertilizer tonnage dropped about 31 percent from September 1, 1974 to March 31, 1975. The quantity % of plant nutrients per ton wa also down about 10 percent for the same period. This overhall reduction of fertilize: usage may mean lower crop: yeilds and less total grosS] revenue to Texas agriculture: Every reduction of $1 spenl for fertilizer may reduce ec. onomic activity in a local area as much as $3.
