State FFA vice-president Len Dingier
was the speaker for the first Annual
Cross Roads Member-Parent FFA
Banquet held Thursday night, April 30,
at the TP&L Youth Center in Trinidad:
Dingier, a pre-dental major at
Stephen F. Austin College, is a five year
veteran of FFA. He outlined his
"stepladder to success" for Cross
Reads FFA'ers, including setting goals,
developing physical strength,
developing positive attitudes, dreaming
dreams, and being yourself.
Chapter officers opened the meeting
for the banquet. Officers are Russell
Giles, president; Shari Piper, vice
president; D'Anua Groves, secretary;
Lanee Wallace, treasurer; Louis Floyd,
reporter; Fred Winston, sentinel; and

Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree

and J Supply Co. of Trinidad.
Proficency Awards, presented to

those who have excelled in given fields,
were presented to Lanee Wallace for
Soil and Water Management; Steve
Allen for Beef Production; Dewaine
Cain for Swine Production; and to the
grand champion Agricultural
Mechanics team of Steve Allen,
Dewaine Cain and Louis Floyd.
CerUficates of appreciation were
awarded to persons outside the chapter
who have shown outstanding support
and help. They were presented to Frank
Upchurch, Michael Campbell, Citizens
State Bank of Malakoff and employees
of Curtis Mathes Mfg. Co.
THE AWARD WINNING Agricultural Mechanics team from Cross Roads FFA
was presented proficiency awards at the First Annual FFA Banquet held last

County Livestock Show last week and won another grand championship at the
