i/,! 10A.The..~h!k0ffNews, Thurs._daY, _I~_ ._Y 7:!_9~..I_ (Editors Note: The following letters were submitted by students at Malakoff Junior High School for a "Why I love my Mum" contest. The News has reprinted a selection of those letters in honor of the mothers mentioned and in honor of all Mothers on Mother's Day.) I love my mother because she loves me and cares for me. When I need her she is always there, especially when I get hurt. Another reason is that whenever she whips me or gets on to me for doing something wrong, I know she does it from her heart to make me be I I II II IIIII I respectful when I grow up. One other reason is that she has can- cer and has to have several operations. So far my mom has pulled through on the operations she has had, but I still pray for her because I love her. Richard Mitchell Age 13 Malakoff Junior High I love my mother because she cares about my every need. My mom has provided for me and my brother ever since my dad died almost seven years ago. My mom has certain qualities no one else had or ever will. The qualities are why I love my mom. But mainly I love my mother because she knows whats right for me and even though I may not think so now, I'll realize it later. If I get in trouble she's always there. Most of all she loves me. Peggy Watson 13 ? I love my grandmother because she is sweet, kind and loving. I'm writing about her because to me, she is my mother. My father died shor- tly after I was born. My mother had a very hard time adjusting to his death. So my grandparents adopted me. My grandmother is very, very special. I couldn't ask for a better mother. She comforts me when I'm down, and has helped me grown into a responsible young adult. I hope you will consider my gran- dmother for your contest, because she is as special to me as other mothers are to other children. Wendy Gunstanson Age 14 Malakoff Junior High I love my mother because she loves me. One of the reasons I know she loves me is because she adopted me when I was born and else would.
