Talking about by Larr3 have been some outstanding perfor- mances in the series already. Dr. J has shown some outstanding moves. Magic Johnson has made some passes that are unbelievable. The entire series has been a showcase of talent. Who ever wins it will certainly deserve it. The answer to last week's quiz was Frank Marroit. Here is a good one for you football fans: Name the four Horsemen of Notre Dame. Last Friday night the guest sPeaker at the Cross Roads Honors Banquet was none other than Burton Lawless of the Dallas Cowboys. After a short talk he opened the floor to some questions. Some of his answers were interesting. When asked about Danny White his reply was that he thought Danny White would step in and do a bang up job. Af- ter all, it wasn't as if he had no ex- perience. When asked about Hollywood Henderson his reply was the fact that Hollywood just couldn't be a team player. I asked him later if he thought Hollywood's value had diminished sin- ce he wasn't traded before the draft. His reply was affirmative and he added that it was probably a lot less than Hollywood thought it was. Lawless is a clean cut sort of guy and the Cross Roads folks really enjoyed him. He an- swered every question and signed everything shoved in front of him. It is really a pleasure to talk with him, in the light of some so called athletes, now a days. The Texas Rangers are rolling along. Richie Zisk is starting to hit. This should mean alot to the Rangers since he didn't hit until it was too late. He plated another one last Tuesday to give him five homers on the season now. The pitching has been a little disappointing, to say the least. The ones who were counted on the most haven't come through. On the other hand, Jan Matlack and Dec Medich have 3-0 records and are still rolling along. rfivers still is hitting above .300 and AI Oliver is still knocking on the door. A trip to Arlington Stadium could be a nice evening of entertainment. The Indianapolis 500 is coming up on Memorial Day. I can't help but wonder how long these big races will continue with the price of fuel getting so high. To run a big car in a race like this it costs well over $100,000 just for the car, not to mention the cost for tires and gas. Although, I would imagine that some of the tires are provided or made much cheaper by manufacturers for the en- dorsement. The NBA playoffs continue Wed- nesday with the Philadelphia '76ere taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. I Just couldn't believe my eyes last Sunday. During the enti~:e game Kareem Abdul Jabbar shot only one free throw. Con- sider all of the shoving that went on. I think that will be taken care of in Los Angeles. If its not it won't be safe for the referees to leave the Forum. There , Here's a man's boot every step of the way! Rugged, handsome, ready for a rough day s work anytime. Easy on the feet, too.
