Beginner student not participating was Start Bailey. Mrs. Ida Pulley had surgery at Memorial Hospital in Athens. The Bob Elsoms' new home on Smith and Eaton is nearing completion. Senior Citizens meet The Senior Citizens met Wednesday, married and has two children. Reaid Heson of Alief ISD was hired as head football coach and math teacher. He is married and has one son. Susanne Alrheart is chairman of the Cystic Fibrosis workers, who con- ducted their drive of door-to-door contributions where 75 percent goes to research care program, education, community service; 12 percent ad- ministrative; and 13 percent for fund raising Volunteer workers were Jennifer Chandler, Valerie Davis, Marsha Colan, Sandy Hiler and Donna Renteria. May 13 for their monthly meeting and Lisa Nolan and Hobble Fugate spent lunch. Jim Williams, president, gave a Saturday and Sunday in Houston with welcome to the 36 present and was Hobbie'ssisterPrissie. followed by Earl Wilkinson who led in prayer. Everyone enjoyed the 42 playing and great lunch. Visitors were Bro. Danny Boler of First Baptist Church, who gave the invocation, Bro. Louis Barren and Bro. Johnny Jackson, who have been con- ducting a revival at First Baptist, and our new postmaster, Mrs. Jeanne McQuary. Lamesa Slllick returned to Houston for further lung treatment. Ruth, Junior Bryson, Barry Bryson of Houston and Marine Blumrosen of Lubbock attended the lovely wedding of Rita Jecha and Joe Bryson on Satur- day, May 16, 5 p.m., in the Holy Trinity Church in Timken, Kan. Jane McCormick Lutrell of Midland FHA had their installation of new officers for 1981-82 Tuesday, 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Parents and friends attended. Pearl and Hollis Hines returned home after visiting with friends out West. Charlie Freeman received the Athens Rotary Award. There were no girls to receive the award this year, as most of the girls were not attending college or attending at HCJC. Jolea and Bill Miller visRed over the weekend with their children in Cleburn. Last Tuesday the phone lines were not working properly, as every time you made a call to anyone you would get Dora Peebles. Dora had calls from 6:30 a.m. till afternoon before her phone was fiXed. It's nice to get phone calls, but not that many from everyone in town ! Chllton and Willie Derden returned home Friday after their planned trip to California. Chllton became ill with food Seniors honored with banquet The United Methodist ladies honored the 1981 Senior Class with a Mexican dinner at the educational building on Wednesday, May 13 at 6 p.m. The decorated tables and walls set the stage for a nice evening. Bro. Melvin Rowland gave the welcome to the class and the invocation. Seniors attending were Lori Tidmore, Leslie Spencer, Jeannie Lewis, Charles Freeman, Jerry Kemp, Glenn Boyd, John Riley, and David Lehman. Sponsors presept were Mr. hnd Mrs. Jim Langford and Mr. and Mrs. John Spencer, and guests Mr. and Mrs. Bob Elam. The MYF members, Amy Rounsavall, binds Rowland, Greg King, Brad Else and Gary DOn Eisom, served the tables. David Lehman gave a special thanks to the ladies who prevared the good food. Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Hines Jr and family of Shreveport, La. visited Saturday and Sunday with parents. Harriet Gilllsple and children, Todd and Meltsa, of Denton visited with parents, Dick and Ellen Sharp, on Saturday and Sunday. Freddie, Myrtle Cede and Ruth Cude visited in Stephenville on Saturday. Harden and Odessa Alrheart visited with their children in Granbury over the weekend. Danny and Cindy Parks of Alameda, Calif. visited with Ann and James Johnston. Mrs. Bill Tart and son David of Alva flew to Dallas on Saturday and are here visiting her parents, Jo and Billie Davis. Mrs. W.C. Fleming Jr. attended the final board meeting May 13 of the unit of American Cancer Society. Coach Bennie King was chairman of the recent National Multiple Sclerosis Read-A-Thon held in Trinidad fourth and fifth grade classes, under the sponsorship of teachers Sharon Hoskins and Debbie Barnett. Mike Airheart was the first-place winner, having collected and read more than eight books; 2rid, Leslie Robb with $25 and 5 or more books read; 3rd, Christi George, 5 or more hooks. Certificates were presented to other participants. The Multiple Sclerosis chapter supports research, free clinic for patients, wheelchair and equipment loans, counseling and public education. Here visiting on Thursday were Mr and Mrs. Wayne Eborhart of Tyler in the home of his sister, Leia Mae and Jelley Owens. Trinidad School Awards Day will be . held May 26. Bob Else was in Austin last Wed- nesday. to Mrs. Wright My dear mother will be celebrating her 86th birthday on May 21, Thursday. She is Mrs. Alice Wright of 221 Scruggs Street in Trinidad. We had a birthday dinner Sunday but will be having more parties and reunions at the end of May. The 10th annual twirling school will be held June I-5. John Spencer will be in charge.
