I Special Events ,, I The NAACP Athens-Henderson County Branch #6270 will have its Fifth Annual Freedom Fund Banquet June 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cain Ceater on 915 S,+Pales- tine Street in Athens. Their speaker will be Clarence Gilyard, who is an actor, producer and co-star of "Walker Texas Ranger." Tick- ets for this event are $15.00 for adults and $7.50 for children age twelve and under. The Food Pantries Summer Hours for June and July are Monday-Friday 9:00-12:00 noon and 2:00 -4:00 p.m. You can leave a message at 489- 0228. The Malakoff Coal Miners Reunion is be- ing held June 23.2001. The Cedar Creakers will be going to the Ar, boretum in Athens for there regular meeting on Jtme 28, 200I. Those wishing to attend need to bring a sack lunch and drinks and meet in the back parking lot at the United Methodist Church in Payne Springs, across from the fire station at 10:30 a.m. that morning. We will all go together to see the Arboretum and then we will enjoy our lunch in the picnic area there. There is no charge but each one is responsible for their own lunch. Henderson County Teen Court meets at 5:30 p.m. on the First Monday of each month in the 173rd District Court in the Henderson County Courthouse, Athens. Malakoff/Trinidad VFW Post 4133 has bingo every Monday and Thursday at 7 p.m. and a dart tournament each Sunday at 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. On Saturdays there will be a live country and western band from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. For information, call 778-2677.
