Funeral services for the Rev. Ansel
Hollifield, 55, of Malakoff were held at
11 a.m Saturday at the Bethel Baptist
Church in Athens with the Rev. J.R
Pruett officiating.
Interment was in Mankin Cemetery
north of Trinidad under the direction of
Carroll & Lehr Funeral Home.
Rev. Hollifield was born April l, 1926
in Trinidad and lived most of his life in
the Malakoff and Trinidad area.
He died Thursday evening in the
Veterans Administration Hospital in
Temple after a lengthy illness.
Rev. Hollifield was a veteran of the
U.S. Navy during World War II and was
a practicing ~ minister for the
Missionary Baptist Church for the past
l0 yearsl lie was a member of the
Athens chapter of Disabled American
Veterans.
He is survived by ills wife, Mrs. Mary
Lucille Hollifield of Malakoff; one
daughter, Betty Sue Daly of Tyler; one
brother, Bruce ttollifield of Mabank;
three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Abbott and
Mrs. Rosie Conger of Malakoff and
Mrs. Marie Abbott of Crescent Heights
and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Arlee Page, Floyd
Miller, Jack McGee, Harold Templin,
Walter Smith and David Ward.
