When I arrived, energetic Barbara was already on the scene helping to set out the picnic- ing necessities and getting an assist from young daughter, Jodi. Corresponding Secretary Reba Walker helps her hus- band in his business, the Judd Walker Realty Agency, locat- ed in the B and J Center in Seven Points. Tommy and Mary Francis Bryant hosted the picnic at their lovely lake-side home in Arnold Hills. It's a perfect spot to view a lake sunset and they were gracious hosts. They completely stole my heart when I spotted a small metal tablet in one of their many pretty flower beds that reads: "If you'd have a mind at peace, -- A heart that cannot harden, -- Go find a door that opens wide -- Upon a lovely garden." Now, doesn't that tell you a lot about the kind of beautiful people they are? Club member Madie Lee James operates Dial's Beauty Salon in the Seven Points B and J Center. Their interesting busi- ness is located about a block off route 274 on Will White Road and resembles a big two story brick mansion with tall white pillars in front. I've often wondered about the folks who own such an unusual looking store when I've passed it on my way home. Now I know. Charlie is retired from the Coast Guard. They brought Mike and Jewel Spillman as their guests and they turned out to be near-by neighbors of ours here in the Trade Winds Addition. You just never know where you'll find a friendly neighbor. Paula Marler, the manager of the Cedar Creek Lake Chamber of Commerce office, and Brenda Wood, owner of that snazzy dress shop, The Leisure Comer, in Seven Points are also members of the B&PW but they missed the picnic because they had a previous committment to at- tend the installation of offi- cers of the new Cedar Creek Lake Association, which hap- pened to be on the same night. Paula was installed as secretary of that organization. That's the kind of women that belong to this club. They are to be found smack dab in the middle of just about any community-building activity around this lake, helping it go and grow. I think I'll take them up on their invitation to join them and at the next meeting I'll walk in and say, a la Minnie Pearl, "Howwww- by her husband, dy, I'm so proud to be here!" her son who is also Americans made 188 billion didn't take but a phone cais in 1973, reports for bit Eddy and my AT&T.
