Page 10- MALAKOFF NEWS- E.C. Barrow District Superintendent Emmitt C. Barrow will be guest speaker at the Malakoff United Methodist Church Sunday, according to an announcement this week by the Rev. Randy C. Warren, pastor. The Rev. Barrow, who is a graduate from Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, served as Navy Chaplain during World War II and has pastored churches at Harleton Circuit, Elkhart, Navasota, Grand Saline, Galena Park. Hardy Memoral, Saint Mathews, and Westbury in Houston. His last pastorate was in Port Arthur. Lott City Manager City of Malakoff Church of Christ Trinidad June 5, 1977 represented ten years of preaching the gospel in Trinidad for the Church of Christ at 241 Scruggs Street. The congregation of the church first met June 4, 1967 in its home. Present minister is Oscar Brantley who has been with the congregation for two years this August. Mac Brantley is always busy helping her husband, but also occupies her time with china painting and art classes. The church has recently completed remodeling a house next door to the present church building where Bro. Brantley resides. The frame structure was completely bricked outsidp and a new addition was included in remodeling. August 1st through 5th has been designated as Vacation Bible School week at the church building. The annual summer activity is open to all children and adults are invited to attend. The church operates a church bus to carry children to and from the evening meeting.
