The Special Friend zm allows any TP&L customer; to designate another person for the company to notify when a past due bill notice is being mailed. "This person is not obligated to pay the hill," according to Watson, "but the customer's special friend will have ample time to contact the customer and assist him in some way. "A lot of times there may be a simple explanation as to why a customer's payment has not been received," Wat- son said. "The customer may have forgotten to pay his bill or he may be in- capacitated in one way or another. We realize that it's an inconvenience for electrical service to be cut off, and to help avoid this siutation, this new program is being offered."
