sponsors tax workshops !
The Internal Revenue Service, in
cooperation with area colleges and
universities, is sponsoring a series of
Tax Practitioners workshops again this
fall with 31 workshops being conducted
in 19 cities in Northern Texas.
Tyler Junior College will offer the
Basic Workshop Friday, Nov. 20, in J-
115, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuition is
$25 and includes the noon meal.
Workshop material will be provided by
the IRS.
The basic workshops will be conduc-
ted by IRS instructors and consist of in-
formation on new charges and selected
subjects in individual tax law. The one-
day workshops have proved helpful to
both the experienced and new tax prac-
titioner. Participants will be eligible for
8 hours of continuing education credit
upon completion of the workshop.
Subjects to be covered this year in-
clude Installment Sales, Minimum and
Alternative Minimum Tax,
Depreciation Recapture (form 4797),
IRS Procedures and Processing,
Preparers Penalty and Windfall Profits
Tax Credit.
