Pettier was a 2010 graduate of TVCC's Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) program who died in May from injuries sus- tained in a Van Zandt county collision in Feb- ruary. TVCC Health Science instructors and former classmates paid tribute to Len i's com- passion, sense 0fhumor and dedication to the nursing profession. "The Len i Pettier Me- morial Nursing Scholar- ship will beneft TVCC nursing students for gen- erations," said TVCC President Dr. Jerry King. "We are so grateful to the Pettier family for making this scholarship possible." In a surprise presen- tation, the first $1,000 scholarship was award- ed to TVCC nursing student Randi Stuard of Canton, one of Pettiet's friends who helped or- ganizing ftmdraising to establish the scholarship.
